Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion help to distribute the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass. Extraordinary ministers must be fully initiated members of the Church (Baptized, and have received First Communion and Confirmation), and must be active members of our faith community. Some extraordinary ministers also bring the Eucharist to the ill and homebound, as well as area healthcare facilities. If you are interested in learning more or would like to become an extraordinary minister, contact Fr. Denis.
Lectors proclaim the first reading from the Old Testament, and the second reading from the New Testament. If there is no Deacon at Mass, the Lector also reads the Prayer of the Faithful, or the Universal Prayer (petitions). The Lector is entrusted with reading aloud the Word of God in such a way as to enrich the hearers, and he/she helps to make God present as the word is spoken. If you are interested in becoming a Lector, please contact Fr. Denis.
All children in grades 4 and up are invited to become Altar Servers. Altar servers assist the priest at Mass. Servers carry the processional cross, and candles, help the priest to prepare the Altar for the Liturgy of the Eucharist, and at special liturgies, help with preparing incense. Altar servers also assist in receiving the gifts of bread and wine at the offertory. If your child would like to become an Altar server, please contact Fr. Denis.
