Children's Choir

Rehearsals take place Wednesdays in the Choir Loft at 4:45pm-5:30pm beginning September 20, 2023.

The Saint Philomena Children's Choir is made up of children in grades 3-8. Rehearsals take place on Wednesdays at 4:45-5:30pm in the choir loft from September through June, and sing at the 10:30am Mass on the first Sunday of the month. All children are welcome! Children's Choir is a comprehensive musical experience. Children will learn musicianship, team building, singing technique and ringing technique! To register your child(ren), fill out the form below. Our first rehearsal for the 2024-2025 year will be on Wednesday, September 25.

Choir chimes are played very similarly to handbells. It is comprised of an aluminum alloy tube, with a clapper which is outside of the tube. Originally an educational tool, the choir chime has made its way into many children's music ministries in many churches! Their mellow timbre blends well as an accompaniment to the child's voice. The larger the chime, the lower the note, and the smaller the chime, the higher the note. The use of choir chimes in our children's music ministry enhances our liturgies at Saint Philomena Parish.
